You can connect a USB or MIDI music keyboard to your computer to play and record software instruments.
Connecting your MIDI keyboard to your MAC can be slightly confusing when you’re new to keyboards. There are going to be a couple of different ways to accomplish this and I also want to touch on what you need to create sound.

According to posts I've read it needs no driver, but I did download a generic one because it hasn't seemed to work yet with or without. That being said, I bought an Alesis Midi to USB interface (which according to the manual also requires no drivers or external power source) and thus have connected the keyboard to my computer. However, when I have pressed the keys, it does not register any midi activity in Logic or any other software program I have used. My other midi device works perfectly in all of them.
